In this report we will combine the weeks 44 & 45 /2017 from the Finnish Game Industry.
News are gathered from the Play Finland group posts during the week. That is why we recommend you to post by yourself (however not flood) your Finnish Game Industry related news to the group. It also guarantees that your news will be visible in the weekly newsletter /news compilation. Play Finland is at the moment one of the main channels for sharing information inside the industry.
We (admins) occasionally publish industry related posts or links in Play Finland. But since there is so many things going on, we don´t even try to cover the whole field.

- Last year Rival Games donated a few dozen Christmas calendars to families that do not always have the luxury of buying them for their kids. They donated them through HOPE ry (http://www.hopeyhdistys.fi/mita-hope-on/ ). This year Rival Gamesturned it into a tradition, got a bunch of game companies and startups from Turku involved as well and will donate over a 100 calenders. And I’m not talking about those simple, old picture calendars, but LEGO, PLAYMOBIL, etc. ones with toys inside, which will give the kids joy well beyond the Christmas.
HOPE operates almost in 20 Finnish cities, so I challenge other cities to pitch in as well. Everyone involved pitched in with a minor part of their salaries and the companies doubled that. Turku can’t be the only one helping all the children to have a Merry Christmas!Companies/entities involved in this from Turku are:

- Äärimmäisen vaikean My Summer Car -pelin suomalainen tekijä ansaitsi yli puoli miljoonaa euroa – Hittipeli on ”käytännössä tyhmää sekoilua kännissä” My Summer Car on peli auton rakentamisesta, karvanopista, kaljasta ja humalaisesta sekoilusta. Se on Suomen pelialan omalaatuisimpia menestystarinoita.
- Nitro Games is trying out something a bit different with Medals of War community. They communicate with their community, using ingame short movies. They use our tutorial character, the war correspondent Flower Adams to deliver news, introduce units etc.
