In this report we will combine weeks 20-21/2023 from the Finnish Game Industry and will be posted every Friday afternoon. Check out the previous post here.
News are gathered from the Play Finland group posts during the week. That is why we recommend you to post by yourself (however not flood) your Finnish Game Industry related news to the group. It also guarantees that your news will be visible in the weekly newsletter /news compilation. Play Finland is at the moment one of the main channels for sharing information inside the industry.

- Death From Above is coming to Steam Early Access on the 25th of May!
- Olli Sotamaa, Heikki Tyni, and Taina Myöhänen from Univesity of Tampere has released a study; “‘Even if the algorithm is a terrible workmate, you just need to learn to live with it’: Perceptions of data analytics among game industry professionals”

- Alan Wake 2 releases October 17th on PlayStation 5, PC via the Epic Games Store, and Xbox Series X|S. See the release trailer here:
- Hahmotuksia/Figurings, Annakaisa Kultima debut exhibition as a play/playful artist (identity pending). ”Hahmotuksia” is open from 25th May to 15th June 2023. Open for public Mon-Fri 12-16 and otherwise by appointment. Kumma Gallery is at Kankurinkatu 5, Punavuori, at Helsinki’s design district.
- City of Kajaani has ordered mobile game from CrowdSorsa. The aim of the game is scout local streets at the city and aim money by that. (Article in Finnish)
- Hologram Monster is showing A first look at out platformer’s new game mechanic: Sand Surfing!
- Miikka Harjuntausta, Kiri Kälkäjä and few other jam members online participated Lv99 Game Jam. Their creation was Bunny99 which was a short top-down shooter adventure, and a proof of concept from bow’n’arrow bullet-time mechanics.
